xbox problems

    bought a new xbox arcade in may and now i'm having problems with it where it doesnt read a disc sometimes i've even tried with brand new dvds and it still wont read but sometimes if its tried a couple of hours later it works "sometimes". thinking of bring it back but sure as heck when i do it will probably work in the shop. anyone any ideas

    I thought he explained it pretty well. Why did you need to post that inane comment?

    If it's a new xbox and it's having problems even reading a dvd I'd bring it back to the shop. If it does work when they test just demand a replacement. From googling it might be an overheatinng problem, is the xbox in a well ventilated area?

    Had a problem playng WAW one day and it just came up and error about not aboe to read disc, turned it off and on and all was fine. No error since but still waiting for it to happen again. Suppose the fact i play it all the time mite be cause of it

    ya its in a fairly well ventilated place (on a shelf) surely if overheating is a know defect ,they (microsoft) should do something about it. i'm just afraid that it will work intermittently and when the warranty is up it will pack it in for good,
