I'm heading to Ballyvaughan for a week next weekend. I'm planning on bringing my mtb aswell as my road bike. I'm just wondering if there's any good trails around there?

not totally sure, i worked down that area alot but never really came across MTB riders, might we worth checking up some of the hill walking guides and asking their opinion, could advise you on road routes with maybe bits of off road but thats about it.

Dude, the whole of Co. Clare is one big MTB playground. Head south out of BV and just get off the main road.

You might get some good tips from the MBUL guys...

Most of the link roads in the burren are only suitable for an MTB. There are some "green roads" between Balinalacken castle and Fanore, one at the top of the corkscrew hill and a few more 2 miles north east of Kilinaboy. As far as I can remember they were all marked at main road intersections with a yellow hill walkers symbol and Burren Way. And some of them are shown even on my ordnance survey map. Ask in Local tourist office also.
