If your movie file is coming from DVD you'll need to rip it to your hard drive first. Handbrake, for both Mac and Windows will do the trick, it will also convert the file into an iPhone compatible format, which is usually .mp4 or .m4v. Next, drag and drop the resulting file into iTunes, plug your iPod into your computer and drag and drop the movie across as you would with music.

    Here's a link to Handbrake:

If you just want to download stuff online(Youtube or whatever) and convert it to ipod format, this is how i do it:

I use Realplayer: http://europe.real.com/realplayer/ , to download the vids. Afaik, it only works on internet explorer.

Then i use videora: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ , to convert the vid to ipod format

    Job done:)

Super is the only video converter you need. I've been using it for years. In fact, i've just used to convert some vids for the iphone. There's a setting for ipod/iphone that takes care of everything. ridiculously easy to use, just drag and drop.
