    ...............................Of old age!!
Kenya's oldest pupil, Kimani Nganga Maruge, has died in Nairobi aged 90.

The great-grandfather held the Guinness World Record for being the oldest person to start primary school, at the age of 84.

Was probably a pedophile, oldest trick in the book.

    Fair play to him.

Can you imagine an 84 year old bloke starting in a primary school over this side of the world? People just wouldn't trust him :(

The article said some of his 30 grankids went to school with him. Must have been a bit weird hanging around with your grandad in school.

    Absolute legend.

Imagine being in school with your possible great-grandfather!! There's probably more than one generation of his younger relations gone through that school :P

if it happened here, he would be branded a paedophile. Fair play to him. May he rest in peace

First time it was ever done this way TBH, being a Teacher or member of the Clergy is the oldest trick in the book.

What an awesome guy. Pity he didn't manage to finish it. I liked that he was planning a veterinary degree afterwards.

Bless him...I dont think in all honesty you meant that...there would be various other ways of trying to molest children...AFAIK there was no mention of him having any experience in any Irish catholic institution.

I wonder what he wanted to do when he left school, bearing in mind that rotting in a box probably wasn't in the curriculum?

On a positive note one of his grand-kids wants to transfer $34,000,000 to me that he left in forgotten bank account.

Speaking of old African students ;) Whatever happened to that deported then imported Nigerian student Elukanlo Olunkunle? Masters degree or 9am sign on time?

This story really warms my heart.

My mum went back to University when she was 53 or so.

Used to sit in the back.

Gave out to girls with short skirts and bad attitudes.

Lol - wish I had been there to see it! :D

He as you proably know got a reprieve from Minister Rotweiler Mc Dowell and after his schoolmates protested on his behalf was allowed back into Ireland to finish his studies.

in return his schoolmates learned that he had been found as a passenger/driver in a stolen car,he was of course then deported again.
ya can lead a horse to water................

PS i hate when a thread dies after i try make a funny:(

Hagar has no sense of humour!:p

Exactly and even if it's true he would have been too frail to learn
