It's halftime and Toulon are leading 13-10 and Jonny Wilkinson is still on and going well. 2 penalties and a conversion and a disallowed drop goal. It's not much to watch but the maestro is looking good. :D

Wilko as good as always, getting through a crap load of work.

Wins a turnover in the tackle, massive performance from him.

Nah i doubt anyone will get the GS slam this year but i say they'd be worth a good bet to win it overall.

Dunno really. Four very good teams this year, can't see anyone winning a GS.

Away to England and France I think Ireland are the least favouritre to win a GS(apart from Scotland and italy).

true... but they are beatable... Plus the irish players will be coming off the back of a decent showing in the lions and munster and leinster will own european rugby again this season with only one french and one english club having any chance

Please enlighten us on the one french club that has a chance to beat Leinster Munster or presumeably Leicester, because Clermont, Perpignan Stade and Tolouse would have something to say about that.

Wilkinson has enjoyed an injury-free spell since moving to France,

you have to love it, he played his first full league match and they are hailing it as an injury-free spell:D

The warm weather will help with the injuries.

Shows how damaged his career's been.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes for him. I hope he stays injury free, but if he does, I'd be worried about playing England any time soon.

Hasnt Johnson et al claimed players in France wont be considered for England, or did I just make that up?

Andrew did yeah he said that those playing abroad will jeopardize their international career but if your as good as Flutey and Wilko they ll make exceptions.

Flutey is a class stepper and a good centre. If he hadnt of got injured he would have been challenging for a Lions test spot. You didnt see the 6 Nations last year then? He was also Player of the Year in the GP in 08 I think.

i did.. he did nothing special there where many players that played far better than he did. i do howeverremember him however playing like a bitch when drico made **** of him a few times. He like the vast majority of english palyers did not deserve to make the lions and those that did mostly did because of injury to players already selected.... good centre maybe but he is at best 5/6th centre in europe

He was joint top try scorer with O Driscoll, who had the tournament and year of his life, and was playing with the best team in the comp and he deservedly made the Lions based on his great attacking performances over the year. Hes a great stepper and bar the obvious choices like O Driscoll Jauzion and possibly Roberts, there arent many more effective players than him with ball in hand in Europe. Many a great player has as you so eloquently put it "played like a bitch" against O Driscoll. Other than Ellis all the other English Lions deserved to be there.

of which he got 2 against france who we know dont play once there is nothing to play for... id take Drico roberts darcy jauzion shanklin tait etc over him.. we would have played better without them than we did with them

I disagree - I think Flutey had a great third test against the Springboks and justifiied his selection. He's a more dynamic centre than some you've named there. Good step, good pace, vision, attritional tackler...
