im thinking of buying this sniper rifle
because i like the m24 socom feel
but is it good because its a bit pricey for 280 fps
but its classic army should it be good then?
    thanks

its a solid piece of kit built like a rock, only problem i found was with the hop up, the adjustment grub screw is in the magwell, so each time you want to adjust the hop you need to take the mag out pain in the ass tbh

Most don't actually. The only ones I've come across that fire 280fps stock and are worth having are the TM VSR series. It's clone, the BAR10 pushes 310fp, as do some APS2's I've come across. Most I've seen have actually had the opposite problem, they're way over our limit as stock.

As for the rifle in question, I haven't had dealings with the M24 but I tend to be exceptionally wary of CA gear anymore. They tend to be disasters these days, in just about every case. The M24 being a boltie, I'm not as sure it'd apply since most of their cock-ups are in the gearbox and plastics departments.
What I would say, however, is that the TM VSR G-Spec is an infinitely better sniper platform. In fact, it's arguably the best of all the spring based sniper systems on the airsoft market.

The last thing I'll say is this; have you actually tried sniping before? I know a lot of people who start these "best sniper rifle" threads have never actually given it a go and most realise pretty quickly that it's not as glamourous as Hollywood makes it out to be and go off it.
If you haven't, I'd suggest borrowing a rifle from a friend (if possible) and trying it out first. At the least, maybe look at the clone alternatives first. They're at least €100 cheaper than their high end brethren, but give good performance and are easier to sell on should you decide it's not for you.

I've heard more problems with the CA m24 then anything else although its a sexy beast of a gun you'd be better off spending the 260 odd euro on a VSR-10. While stock its shooting 280 being a TM you outrange most things shooting 328. If you feel the need to up the fps it is a bit of a pain in the ass drilling out the pin on the cylinder but its not rocket science.

the M24 is a really nice piece and super solid, but in true classic army there are some common problems, one is the cocking lever itself, it can break right off in your hand and unless your experienced with metal working, cant be pricey to put right,
another fault is the problem with BBs getting into the hop area when removing mags and the BB can get jammed there. then when you cock the rifle and return the bolt it locks up. the outter skin of the hopup mechanism is pretty thin and if you put any force on the bolt when returning it, it will actually break through the side of the hopup mech.

I think Masada makes some good points... Essentially the CA m24 socom is pretty... but its not the best gun that I could advise for a beginer.... too complicated, too finicky, and generally a gun that requires an experienced hand to perform well.

However, this sounds like every other 'what am best snipar' thread. And it gets the same answer as any other. JG bar10.... its hard to f*** up, and it performs well.
