They either lied to you. (So you would buy now or something else) or meant it would be more available in September. Either way i would not buy it in that particular shop.

there is a shortage of iphones because there was a recall and carphone warehouse is waiting for new shipments. (they were overheating) all u can do is ask a member of the staff if h would kindly call u when they are back in sock

There was no recall and that overheating thing is just nonsense.

They're out of stock because as soon as they hit the shelves there's a queue outside to snap them up.

there is no queue either cos we only get one every two weeks or even less.

So where's the recall? Just a lot of speculation, rumour and opinion there.

    Exactly.

I have yet to hear of an official recall.

Im not Knocking Carphone Warehouse. I bought mine there. They were good to me.
Just certain people at certain times will take advantage of people who would not be as knowledgeable as most of us one this Iphone forum. I assume there on Commission so want the/a sale no matter what. So they will lie. So for this I say vote with your feet and dont buy in these shops etc.

i wouldn't go as far as saying "don't buy from carphone warehouse".
do your research online before you are gonna buy a phone, check the price plans yourself in the catalog. it is all about commission so you might not always get the "best deal".
don't expect us to tell u everything, no matter where u go if u don't know anything, the sales person will take advantage of that

Gotta say, I experienced much better treatment in the search for an 3GS from Carphone Warhouse than O2. For a start, CPW actually answer their in store phones - I know it's a revolutionary concept for a communications company that O2 have yet to take to. Their staff seemed more knowledgeable about delivery times and stock levels and I got €100 off for trading in my old phone.

By lying about stock and pushing another phone on to the customer?

You seem like the person I advised people to Vote with there feet with.

As an Employee Your doing a Great Job on this Forum Promoting Carphone Warehouse with them lines.. ||Good Job you.

Just bought an iphone from carphone warehouse in grafton st - was dealing with the manager - he also, how shall i say it, was involved in mis-selling with the product i purchased. I asked specifically whether sat-nav was preinstalled and his reply was 'yes'. Obviously this is not the case but being a novice to iphone technology I did not know - hence I asked the question. A very disappointing experience which also affects the apple and o2 brands!

How does the bullsh*t a Carphone Warehouse employee spouts affect Apple or O2? They can't be responsible for the lies a muppet tells you in any store. Not a nice thing for him to do in the first place, but I'm not surprised that they would say anything for a sale.
