Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster.

As i stated in the heading. I looked at my gf emails.

She is away, and got me to print off something to hand into college from her emails.

So, when i was there i read through alot of stuff i knew i shouldn't.

I even ventured back in again a few days later for some unknown reason.

    I actually don't know why.

The girl tells me everything, i think it was just curiosity. Never feared cheating or any of that stuff. Didn't expect to find anything interesting or relevant or anything at all. Which was true.

Anyway i decided i was being a little s**t, and whilst i wouldn't care if she checked mine, i don't like the mistrust it represents.

So, i'v decided to not do it again.

And i haven't (this was all a few weeks away btw)

    But i feel guilty now...

    Is it something worth telling?

Minor problem but anything i can do?

And yes this is pretty much to alleviate my guilt/make sure it doesn't happen again.

I don't want to do this, and i never will again...

It worth mentioning to her or just let it go?

First off - give yourself a good scolding.

Now - don't do it again. Would not mention it to her, but maybe suggest she change her password so you don't have to live with the temptation.

Down that road is paranoia and loneliness.

Was done to me a while back - hated it - guess I am a private person, when I found out went and changed all my pw's immediately. Later thought better of it - like your gf I have nothing to hide - but as I said I value my privacy.

It wouldn't be a very good idea to tell her. Just forget about it and don't do it again !

I'm in a relationship and I often have my boyfriend check mails etc for me. Totally trust him. If he turned around and said to me " Look I feel really bad about this but, when you asked me to check xxx the other day I had a snoop through your emails, I won't do it again but I don't like keeping it from you". I'd probably be slightly annoyed initially but i'd be over it quick enough and I'd be glad he told me.

Learn to repress your guilt. Thats what I do.

Now where will I put that post about the nervous twitch I have developed Personal Issues or After Hours?

dont tell her, it will only cause hassle over nothing, just DONT ever do it again, as you said she is an honest person who tells you everything, as previous poster said, - i suppose curiosity killed the cat,, just forget about it,

    +1 M.

If you bring it up and tell her, she'll yell at you, but more importantly, she can forgive you. Otherwise you'll always have to lie by omission on top of entering a very slippery slope. Be brave and get it over with. If your relationship is worth its salt it will survive this, and she'll (ultimately) appreciate your honesty.

no don't tell her. sometimes its best to just shut up and keep these things to yourself. you were slightly curious, we've all been there, so now just leave it be.

    OP you are human.

Its our nature to be curious of everything around us.

Curiousity didn't kill the cat, telling his missus about it did!!
