Musicians wanted in Dublin

I have now reached my second year of college and have not yet started any sort of musical project. I'm getting worried.

Bear with me, this might take a while.

I'm a bit of a multi-instrumentalist. Main instrument is drums, I can also play guitar and can sing if needs be.

I want to start some sort of musical project (not necessarily a "band" per say), I just want to get together with a few musicians for a few jams and play and write a bit of music. I would be interested in gigs but my main priority is just to play some music regularly. I have played in bands before and with other musicians a fair bit but I have not played many gigs.

I like alot of stuff and my musical tastes have taken all sorts of twists and turns over the years and I think I have been influenced by all my musical phases whether I like it or not.

I do not want to restrict this little thing to a particular genre either, I'm not necessarily looking for people who are in to the same artists as me. I think that more different the musicians and influences can come out with some really interesting stuff. I would like to experiment with anybody who could introduce me to something new. I'd be interested in playing around with some synths and electronica maybe? Having said that common ground is also a good place to get started with when jamming with new musicians.

I heartily endorse instrument swapping. It's not a requirement just and idea and if you're competent enough to bash away on the drums after shredding away at the guitar then let's go for it. I played in a band and we could all play each instrument well enough and we had a great oul larf.

i guess I'm looking for the basics: Drums, guitar, bass, vocals, but all musicians are welcome, maybe keyboard, xylophone?

What I'm listening to: Animal collective - Merriweather post pavillion
Yeah yeah yeahs - misc., White Stripes - misc., Weezer - misc., The Strokes - misc., Soulwax - nite versions, The Stone Roses - stone roses, SMashing pumpkins - misc., Radiohead - All albums. Influences: Quite simply at the moment: Radiohead, all albums. Inspiring stuff.

    Gear
Drums: New Spawn 3 pc., Ludwig supraphonic steel snare,
various zildjian, sabian and paiste cymbals

Guitar: all set for buying a new Fender thinline telecaster. Byoorifull guitar.
Marshall AVT 50 amp, I plan on investing in a new Orange "Tiny Terror" or "Duall Terror" once funds allow

Basically I'm an openminded musician who wants to start/join a band

If you're up for making music, pm me
