Least favourite Character

just went through the thread on people's favourite Wire character and most of them get mentioned so how about least favourite characters..

for me, i've just finished series three and i think Daniel and D'Angelo have been the worst. Daniels cause he's a terrible actor and D'Angelo cause he always seemed to me like he wouldnt have the nerve to kill a spider nevermind be a killer.

Daniels played the roll perfectly and that was the entire point of D'Angel, he wasn't cut out to be a gangster, he was soft.

ziggy, his brother, frank subaka, pretty much anyone in that whole season two docks area. ziggys brother was awful, his wife was ok (great great boobs... yeah you now the scene im on about!). i was SO happy to see none of them when i watched the first episode of season three. i was prepared to stop watching if they came up.

i greatly disliked carcetti, boring bastid. also that reporter who made up his stories was pretty annoying. the girl running the carcetti campaign who mcnulty was banging was also pretty annoying.

Yep that was my main gripe with Carcetti. Completely pathetic acting. I know the guy is from drumcondra and we should be proud of him but he put on a DISMAL showing if you ask me, very very very poor.

I thought Daniels was pretty decent overall. Deangelo was also played well imo.

As mentioned before, I didnt like Season 2 so all of the dock workers for me especially Ziggy. I could just about stand Sobotka but didnt really like that season.

Carcetti as well, not a great fan of his.

Brother Mouzone was just awful. In my opinion, his character should never have featured. He is so out of place, and unbelievable, that it is hard to get immersed by the show when he is part of the plot.

Is the question about what characters do we dislike in the show

or

what actors suck at portraying characters in the Wire?

To the first question I disliked Brother Mouzone and I'm still ensure how he passed quality control.

I never warmed to Daniels/wife as they plain bored me. I skip past their scenes these days. Waste of time.

To the second question there is some bad acting in the Wire from time to time and I'd include the guy who plays Daniels in here too. I actually think Carcetti is acted amazingly. If you know politicians in real life as friends this is exactly how they talk/act. They are sort of unnatural, uneasy and Carcetti is nailed as the classic politician on the make.

Otherwise I can't agree with people who dislike Herc since he is technically one of the most important characters in the show (although he does not know it himself). The dock-workers, especially Nick, are played quite well considering that working class white boy is a difficult thing to pull off these days.

Yeah, he's definitely in my Bottom 3, but

I think since he was the kid in Season 3 who Bunk saw imitating Omar, I had to let him off for killing Omar, cos thats just damn good writing

No major characters but of the minor ones, I disliked, Marla Daniels, the reporter in season 5 who faked the homeless stories, McNulty's wife, BRANDON, what a stupid looking dope. Think that's it...I'm sure more will come to me, its beena while since I watched it, might start from the beginning again tonight.
