Hey, I got my debs dress the other day. It's an ivory colour with a full skirt and silver beaded flowers on the skirt. At the moment I'm quite tanned from holidays but seeing as my debs is two months away it'll probably have faded a good bit by then. I'm wondering would an ivory drss with pale skin give me the strawberried and cream/English rose look, or would it make me look washed out?

Also what kind of makeup should I wear with it?

    Thanks for any help!

that really depends on the fabric and your complexion. we could guess but without photos of your dress/regular complexion theres no way of telling.

hey,ok chances are you'll be wearing make up and proble get your tan done??
what colour is your hair?defo get silver shoes if theres silver beads??a pic would be ideal but don't go too heavy with the jewellery it looks tacky for a debs!!
with make up id go for brons on your eyes regardless of tan or not?

I almost definitely wont be wearing fake tan, I've never seen it done well (even professional spray tans) and don't want to risk getting orange on my dress. I'll post up a pic of the dress tomorrow tho.

If you have the money, would you consider getting a tan done as a trial, even just a half body. I'm very pale so got a trial done, so when the time came for the debs I knew to get it done three days in advance to wash it off to a colour that suited me. And to tell her NOT to put it on my face

    No to the tan!!! ;)

You can still look fab without tan! I just even out my skin tone on my arms with MAC Face and body.

I went to a house party the other night and wore cream top and I did my make-up with pale (dusty) pink eyes on lid, then a little bit of matte beige further up lid and then a purple in socket, blended well. Had purple liner (quite a dark eyeliner). Blush was Maybelline mousse blush in Whipped Cream or something. Have to say I liked how it turned out. I've very pale skin and dyed red hair.

Ivory with 'fake' tan just sounds horrible. Give us a look at the dress.

You'll be fine colourwise if you get the makeup right. You could use plenty of soft pink blush to give you a glow, you could go for an etheral look using products like Benefit's Moonbeam mixed with moisturiser, you could use highligting products on places like your clevage too. It depends on your hair colour too, a pale blonde would be likely to be too much paleness.
