I started dying my hair scarlet red a few months ago. i was using L'oreal Feria and was dying it every 2 weeks as red fades really quickly. As a result my hair became limp and brittle. It was alreay wrecked from extensions but dying it just destroyed it.

I came on here actually and was recommended Redken Extreme Fuel to help repair my hair. It's a protein treatment that you use once a week. It's absolutley brilliant. After using it for a month along with L'oreal Expert shampoo and treatment conditioner my hiar became soft and strong again.

I then bought a big round brush and watched a video on youtube showing how to achieve a salon blow dry. Just youtube perfect blow dry and it'll come up. using a round brush gives your hair loads of volume. It got to a point where my hiar was too big and bouncy!! Now I something use a straightener and make it slick instead of big but when I want it volumous I just use a round brush!

Hope this helps. Start by getting it back into good condition..

    Philip Kingsly elasticiser!!

Best product ever for really badly damaged hair!
    Could not live without it!
Its a bit pricey though, but there are a few companies on the net who do it. One in Jersey who do free postage and price it in euros...

if you're stuck for cash try the yes to carrots hair mask. it's amazing, it'll get your hair back to it's normal condition. either that or Vo5 hot oil. use one of them to deep condition your hair every 1-2 weeks.
then for quick volume, use lots of mousse on wet hair, it'll give you waves without the frizz.

For a bit of volume i use tresemee Body and Lift. It won't repair your hair but i find it gives my hair a good lift and makes it look less limp.

just blow dry upside down and then to top it off and hide the damaged fly aways tip head upside down again and spray hairspray all over!

I've lived with ridiculously fine, flat hair all my life and I know that very little works!

Too many products, like mousse and volume sprays quickly pull down fine hair making is look heavy and untimately just make it flatter by the end of the night  so I think the best bet is to worry about looking after your damaged ends with some smoothing serum (though really the only way to fix them is to cut them off)

Then wash with an invigorating shampoo rather than a volumising one (I really don't think they're made for fine hair!!) Though I'm loving the new Herbal Essences at the moment - they've changed their Volumising formula and whatever they've done IT'S GREAT!

Blow dry with a big round brush then leave to cool on Velcro rollers - literally the best ever inventon for fine hair. I don't leave home without them :)
