    Hi,

can anyone tell me what is the best bit rate for recording from the UPC DVR to a DVD recorder?

by that I mean getting the best picture possible off the box but without using more space than is necessary (i.e. because it is the best possible picture)

    is that understandable??

    cheers

You have no control over the bit rate...

Assuming he's talking about recording from the SCART output, I think he means on the DVD recorder, over which he does have control, i.e. differing quality settings resulting in larger or smaller recordings.
