I drink 6+ mugs of tea (normal Lyons tea, not herbal) per day, & the mug I use is enormous so prob equal to about 10 'normal cups', is this too much? I've read conflicting stuff online that google threw up.
I use a small amount of full fat milk & no sugar. Doesn't seem to b doing me any harm :)

If you're worried about your caffeine intake, have you tried the decaffinated tea? I drink Barry's decaf and there's no difference whatsoever in taste.

I drink that much tea too, I'm addicted! I used to drink decaf, the lyons one is just the same but I was told that it's really bad for you because of the process it goes through to be 'decaffed'. Apparently though the organic one is great as it goes through a different process. I've heard/read lots of conflicting stuff too. One example is that every cup takes up to 4 cups of water out of your body! that can't be true otherwise my mother would be a shriveled up prune!

I could never give up tea. ever.

Yeh, theres always decaf in my house but I think there is a difference in the taste, mayb its just in my head. Just wanted to know if there was any negative effects cause I'd hav no hope of even cutting down let alone giving it up, addicted isn't the word :)
Must keep an eye out for the organic one.....

well if you're never gonna give it up then knowing the effects is no use to you, you'll only be stressing over something you're not gonna change!

Anyway. A cup of tea solves any problem. So it can't be bad.

love tea, i drink it all the time. i think I drink more than yourself OP!

...But, as my dad always says: "too much of anything is a bad thing"

If you enjoy it keep at it, I think the only effect would be high caffeine, but I need it to get through the day.

It's a better alternative to red bull !

Yes, as in yes not true. It came up in the coffee forum before. I think it showed normal coffee would not have an overall effect, i.e. you might lose 1 cup for each cup you drink. So really it should not be added to your counting of water intake. But tea has less caffeine per ml than the average coffee, so overall it should be hydrating you.
