I like how they never stick to a specific way of storytelling, so that you never know what to expect when an episode begins.
Good episode overall and was good to see Danny Pudi get to stretch his acting wings a bit more.

Enjoyable enough episode, not too many laugh out loud moments but it still held my interest throughout, favourite bit was Troy's
'What market are you shopping at!?' line

back to the hills with ya!

anyway, if anyone caught the movie choke with sam rockwell on film 4 last night you would have seen britta showing off her "acting talents" as a stripper.

    i mean her boobs.

It was a strange episode.. it wasn't particularly funny but it was strangely engaging and enjoyable!

Notice it was slated by a lot of reviewers in the US.. but to me, it was an episode full of wry subtle humour (e.g the sheer number of times 'Cougar Town' was dropped into Abed's and Jeff's onversation).

It wasn't particularly strong, but it definitely wasn't the weakest of the season either.

Richard, did you only watch it because there was quite bit of internet buzz (albeit slightly negative) surrounding the episode?

Why don't you just watch shows you like and avoid the ones you don't? Do you really feel the need to be that informed in what's going on in TV land at all times?

I assumed he watched it to come here and 'troll' about it.

So you don't watch it then. Did they not teach you the basics in troll school?

i see richards posts in here usually as blah blah blah blah, he makes good points in other threads but in this one he comes across as being bitter,

I liked the episode, changs why did you leave me with him line, and the zipper is touching my balls.

I thought this weeks episode was fantastic, near perfect in fact. Loved everything from
Annie's set-up joke at the start, which I admit I laughed way too hard at,
    to
Troy's fake molestation, 'my uncle put his finger in my no-no!'
    and
    Fiddler, Please!
    .

More episodes of this quality, please!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

Fiddler, Please! was the best part

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

I enjoyed it - I've been saying we need more Troy all season and I got just that...

Just started watching this the other day and got as far as the latest episode, loving it! I just wish that when there's a weaker episode they'd have more Annie in it, she's like Kristen Bell for me, I could watch any crap once she's on the screen. :pac:

Some great moments in that episode.. loved the nods to 'The Cape'.

That was excellent and yet another example of an episode only Community could pull off...

Don't blame me, I've seen enough movies to know the puncturing the back of an inflatable dingey makes it go faster!

How can they do so many different types of episodes and still make them work? :S

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,053 ✭✭✭Aldebaran

Another brilliant episode. Best Jeff Winger speech ever. Also, anyone else really want to see a St. Patrick's day adventure episode now?

Come on, seriously, I can not be the only one that thinks this has gone from hilarious to drivel. What started as refreshing is now extremely short on genuine laughs.

A joke ceases to be a joke unless it gets the desired reaction, and in the case of Community this reaction is contrived and false.
It reminds me of laughing at my uncle’s jokes at a family gathering. At first, I actually found some humor. Then as his material ran thin, the originality shot, I laughed to ease the awkwardness of the conversation and because he always ends a statement with a pause and rather than prolong the silence, I fill it with emotionless laughter.

Now I can not even force this and do not want to be in the same room, though often am out of perceived ties and loyalty.

A more than apt illustration for my relationship with community. How it still gets good ratings is the greatest laugh attributable to this show.

because it was never a proper show in the first place

Ha, love how the shot of the diorama at the end of the episode has Chang outside it looking in the window.

Great episode! I think it needs to push it to this type of level in order for it not to seem old and somewhat of a one trick pony.

That's probably the best "clip show" episode I've ever seen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

Brilliant! The Dean's cartoon at the end was hilarious, and the Pierce/Abed montage too.

PS I totally called jeff and britta were doing it like 6 eipsodes ago.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

    It wasn't a bad ep. actually, and i've zero context....i liked the Annie/Jeff montage...lol!

Was it the Leprechaun incident that gave it away?

^ i've only seen like four episodes and even *I* knew they were knocking boots!

That whole sequence is making fun of this fan video (and others like it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsBvqDwVqwc

Could it be that Richard is finally warming to Community? This is the only show that could pull off a "clip show" of episodes that never ever happened. Abed as the Cape was excellent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

This week's was great - the reference back to the Paddy's Day adventure and Abed delivering the baby earlier in the year was fantastic...

Can't wait for next week - part 1 of the paintball 2 parter...

I'm only watching for Alison Brie's adorable cuteness + huge boobs!, they were spectacular in this ep.

    This.

that ep poked fun at typical clip shows and managed a dig at glee in the process. win.

also the next ep is great too
    A child is born.

This could be one of my favourite scenes in the show in a long time!

Abed's disheartened look after he does the handshake with Pierce, and Donald Glover's cracking acting (his "no..." and "robe close" are particularly great!)

    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

"Make your money, whore!" is my favourite line ever said on Community now

Also loved "Together my cats can do anything"

Great episode this week, Chang was even semi-human which was a great change.

    Who IS Betty Grable anyway?

I'll admit I was skeptical - last years paintball episode was so good, I didn't think they'd be able to top it or even come close to its greatness, but that was epic!
And still another part to go... brilliant!
