    Are TV3 showing it?

Didn't know that, I might rewatch season 1

    Apologies, it's not TV3, it's on 3e.

Oh yeah I saw that, it got moved to some crappy slot past midnight to accommodate reruns of the X Factor or something

This, along with Modern Family, is the finest new comedy out of the US last year!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,380 ✭✭✭✭Basq

    Still makes me laugh heartily..

Episode 4 was weird but kind of funny at the same time. The KFC thing went totally over my head tbh. But I still enjoyed it. I like when they parody films and genres.

    Great episode again!

    "Is this anesthesiology?"
"....Yes! (Go with me on this)"

Also: Annie's boobs, holy crap they're amazing.

"We are 40 light years outside the buttermilk nebula...although it is possible...ya, it's a sticker"

    Fantastic espisode.

Was very funny.. the Buttermik Nebula line was a stroke of genius!

There was definitely something in the episode that reminded me of "Space Camp" - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091993/

And a nice sly Goatse reference. ;)

Another fantastic episode. The slow motion walking was great.

i wonder if entire shows are going to be based around products, could they get the sponsor first and then they write, the HIMYM could have been we need to write a show with bing in it, although a show about racing through a busy city was a plausible story, as was the kfc space bus

Possibly, but the intro was taken from the right stuff.

    Great episode.

rewatching the first series at the moment. Only the first two episodes are a bit weak, everything else is fantastic. Also a lot of subtle jokes in there that you can miss the first time around.

I just love Joel McHale. I watch The Soup every week and he just has great facial expressions in both this show and The Soup. I expect him to be huge (films etc.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 460 ✭✭KeanSeenan

I like him in this, but I was skeptical of him as he played Roy in the remake of The IT Crowd for America..

Quality episode. I haven't seen product placement handled this well since the Burger King episode of Arrested Development.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

lol what a good episode. Abed looks pretty good with long hair!

Loved the Britta & Jeff being the parents thing especially when Jeff is reading the paper and realises he's acting like a parent.

I like Joel McHale, but the episodes where he plays a smaller role are also great - it shows how strong the writing and acting is on the show!

I thought it was terrible this week. Probably my least favourite episode of the show. Shirley is not funny in any way whatsoever, so an episode centered around her is going to be almost completely devoid of humour. She's the only weak link in the cast, she's like the Lisa Simpson of Community, basically. And her voice irritates the hell out of me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 460 ✭✭KeanSeenan

I think they use the 'that's nice' and christian thing as a bit of a crutch with her, but I didn't think it was bad this week.

Yep, not a great episode this week.

Although did like the end with the black shirts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

I agree that the Abed/Shirley storyline was a bit weaker than the usual standard, but still had its moments. Thought the Pierce storyline was brilliant though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

I thought it was decent, not up to the normal standard but not really awful.

The Pierce story was good but the Shirley one was really crap. Although Abed looks good with long hair.

I know its been said a million times, but this show is frakking genius.
Only Community could get away with a Halloween episode like this without looking ridiculous. The last bit with George Takei had me laughing for ages. I wish I was named Kevin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

WHAT IS UP WITH THAT CAT?!

    IS SOMEONE THROWING IT?!

    haha.

Pure genius episode. This show is amazing and the specials they do are just hilarious.
I loved Troy coming in at the end and punching everyone and saying Jeff is still cool as a zombie.

It's also funny that there was a lady gaga outfit overlap with Community and The Office.

Terrific episode. Ridiculously absurd but they pull it off!

Troy and Abed are usually at the centre of the jokes but don't play central roles like say Britta or Jeff and for that I give credit to the writers because I think the show would lose so much if all story lines were focused on Troy and Abed. I like the comic relief nature of their characters rather than have them being the stars.

One of the best lines ever :). They played on various horror cliches, but this one was so well done. Pretty much on par with the paintball episode of season 1 really.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,344 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

I loved Troy at the end. "Ok ok, i've been bitten...damn. Congrats, you did what Zombies do." I love this show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

I loved Chang calling Troy at the end and Troy saying "Why did he call me?"

Such a fantastic show, I can't think of any other programme that could do an episode like that without it being ridiculous.

    hi.
i just found out about this show last week from you guys and i have to say this is one of the most imaginative comedies i've seen from the states.
so thank you for introducing me to this gem.
have watched all of season one in one week and am now up to date on season 2.
somebody should convince rte to buy this one in.

also the halloween episode is probably the best halloween special for any program ever.

Read that this morning too, fantastic news, brings the show to a "full" season 2 - hopefully this means we get a season 3 as well, the show is still going from strength to strength.

Hilary Duff and Andy Dick guest star
    in tonight's episode

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

This episode wasn't so great tbh. There were some pretty funny parts like the racist guy and Jeff wearing Uggs.

I agree, and the music at the start was odd, I know it was for the whole trampoline thing, but not sure if it fit.

was the trampoline place a piss-take of something i got a very Lost like vibe off it. kind of like jacob and his magical stream

    No..

.. I just got the vibe of Garden Of Eden / Temptation of it.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner will appear in an upcoming episode comedy
as Andre the ex-husband of Shirley

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

Pierce saved that episode, not very good at all. The "Zoom, Zoom, enhance" bit made me lol

    Loved the racist guy though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 460 ✭✭KeanSeenan

For some reason that joke seemed a bit Father Ted/Graham Linehan-y to me.

Not the greatest episode I've seen, but there were some very funny parts. I like the fact that they just are honest about what the episode is.

Yeah not an amazing one, but still a great parody. And there was some great moments in it.
Plus the return of Annie's Boobs... :D Yay!

I thought it was strange. Enjoyable but strange, even for them. Abed's character really helps pull off episodes like this, like they're saying "yes we know it's a bottle episode, go with us." then it paid off with the mensies gag.
