nord stage 88 ex

had a major problem with my main midi controller on stage at a fairly big gig last weekend and i've decided it has to go and i'm gonna opt out of the whole midi/laptop thing for gigging cause it's just not reliable enough.

i'm looking at buying a nord stage 88 ex but i've come across a deal and i'm having difficulty deciding which to go for.

basically, a new stage 88 EX costs about 3 grand new, which is a lot, considering my last keyboard was about 500! i've found a deal going on an ex-demo regular nord stage (without the EX) for 2500 euro. The only differences between these two boards is that the EX model supports slightly better piano samples (with string resonance), has 256mb memory opposed to the 128mb in the regular model and it's a slightly different colour scheme.

Has anyone played both of these? Is the EX model that much better that it warrants the extra 500euro? Ah, what to do...
