Has anybody played at this golf club?

Heading there next month! Can't seem to find any course info on the website.

Yeah I've played it, very average. It's an ok course but it's just a run of the mill parkland with a few good holes and a lot of very ordinary ones.

Fullstop's description is pretty accurate. Nothing will jump out at you (12, 13, 14 are the best) but you need to be tidy early on if you want to score. The course sits on a hill side, and is quite open, so plenty of opportunities for the ball to run off the fairway.

All the same, i enjoyed it. And I'm not kidding when I say you could bump into Rory in the clubhouse. Apparently he was in the members' bar while I was there and nobody told me. I was on the other side sitting under the Rory McIlroy wall of fame.

Played it once, a little rough to be honest. Fairways were patchy and flaky. Very cheap green fees though, about £10 if I remember correctly

It's a fairly decent course and is dominated early on by the slopes. It's important to try to stay on the high side of the fairway as the ball will roll down.

The first is quite short and don't be tempted to hit a driver as it's easy to hook or pull it out of bounds left.

The 12th hole (White House) is probably the hardest hole especially into the wind. I think Peter Alliss may have said that this was the worst hole in golf?

The view over Belfast Lough on the 13th/14th can be very nice - you'll see the cranes of the shipyard (Samson and Goliath in Harland and Wolff) and the City Airport.

To get to the course, follow the M1 to Belfast and then follow the signs for Bangor/Holywood. You should pass the George Best City Airport on the left and then pass through a major junction. Soon you'll pass Ikea on the left and then you should see a turnoff for Holywood on the right. Take this and then turn first right up Jacksons Road. Follow the road round to the right as it changes into Demesne Road and the golfclub is on the right.

    Look out for Rory. Enjoy.
