I am entering my 2nd year of college and am now 24 years of age. I wasn't old enough last year to apply for a mature student grant. Does anyone know if I can avail of one this year, and if not, are there other grants/finance options for people in my situation?

i'm not 100% on this but im pretty sure you're only consider a mature student if you are at least 23 years of age on January 1 of the year you enter your course.

So if you not a mature student in the 1st year of your course you're never consider one.
