Hi everyone, considering you are business owners i thought you might be able to help me with this.

I was lucky enough to get a job in a large retail outlet.
It was offered the job over the phone, i accepted.
I was asked do i have a p45 and to bring it into work on my first day (wednesday)....i said yes and that i would bring it as i presumed i had one (like everyone has a pps number).

It turns out i do not have a P45 however, as i have never before worked.
What will i do on wednesday, is it a big deal or can this be easily rectified?

    Cheers

    BM

It's not a big deal at all, they just presumed you were coming from employment elsewhere and would have got one when leaving that job. So just tell them it's your first job.

When you show up they'll more than likely get your details off you for the 12A they submit to revenue to register you with them for tax purposes. So bringing your pps number would be handy.

Once they get you registered, your tax credits etc will be sorted for the job with them.
