St Louis Spirit very impressive in the first round....College a bit too short now...all in all though the worst quality Derby for years IMO...

First 2 in the betting are far too short for me now.
Had a few very small e/w bets.
    Challengingtimes 100/1 ew
    Barefoot Bolt 40/1 ew
    Mecano 66/1 ew
    Wise Thought win

IMO It is without doubt the best derby in a long time, track record broke twice allready and about 15 dogs capable of winning it!

have St Lois Spirt backed at 50s also a bit on college causway at 8s so fingers crossed

Looks like have been proven wrong thus far on my pre Derby assumption....

Hardly any wides left in the competition already......there are worse bets than the following outright now(both with VC)

    MidwestBlue - 80/1
    Corporate Attack 100/1

Both should certainly give a bit of ante post interest.....

Both those dogs should be 200/1, absolute no hopers!

Pity college isnt a wide seat, but he has 6 box this week, think he runs a lot better from the outside and keeps him out of trouble.

If St Louis Spirit keeps breaking the way he has been he will be extremely hard to beat.

    How can you say that?
Record broken, 1 dog away from winning it undefeated. you sure you looking at the same Derby as everyone else?

Doc - in all fairness I made the comment just after the first round, ie could only see 2 or 3 dogs possibly winning it??

Biscuits - Best of luck on Saturday night with that bet, would say Powers will be cheering on anything against it....

Hopefully it will be another good supporting card this year

Would fear for College Causeway on the grounds of the draw, he's going to need to be very lucky to avoid a wallop.

Re the quality of the derby, it's a good one if you ask me, but some people are going a bit overboard alright, the track's been on the quicker side.

Has a dog ever won the Irish Derby undefeated before?

Just got back now.......College mega impressive last night and a fully deserving winner, ended up backing Oran Classic but just caught.....would say the on course books got cleaned out last night as virtually every fancied dog won!

Not just at the course, I'd say most bookies lost as CC was fav all the way through.

I Got 6/4 College Causeway last night and thought that was a massive price. :)
Must have been the first time they were selling tickets on the gate for a Derby Final?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 804 ✭✭✭jkmanc1974

They have sold tickets on the gate for the last 2 years I think, if not they have always been available from touts outside or near Slatterys pub etc...

Powers have lost 50k on the Derby apparently with College winning...
