Apologies to the mods if this has been covered, feel free to move or merge.

I have an 02 alfa 147, had it a year, generally keep good care of it, used to always change the oil and oil filter on my last car, a punto, but really dont want to attempt it on this. well to be honest it takes a litre of oil every 1000 miles, so i do tend to the oil regularly.

Anyways cutting to the chase, i want a basic service, just oil, oil filter, plugs if needed, air filter probably isnt needed, and a quick check of all the basics.

I have gone to kellys in rathmines to get bits done before, and found them, friendly, reasonable and quick.

what im wondering is, i see some dealers offering special €99 or €139 services, firstly what would these services entail, and is it good value, and would they do a better job than kellys, and secondly, if so, where near town or southside is offering these specials

Try Andrew in Alasta Autos for prices, I find them decent to deal with when I call into them and they are Alfa specialists.

I rang four different garages about these offers in August, two said that the price doesn't apply to my car (no mention of that on their website) two were supposed to ring me back but never bothered. Also, the main dealer I bought the car from sends me a postcard every 6 months advertising these "special offer" services but then when I ring up they say it doesn't apply to my car

There is a new place on the Kimmage road next door to the redzone motorbike shop that services cars for 149.00 for the complete thing so i presume without plugs must be cheaper...cant think of there name but it looks impressive,i get my diesel in the discount station next door to them.

I'd bring it to Gerry in TI Autos - he looked after my mother's 156 for years and i've never met anyone with a bad word to say about the guy. Ph 01 8386567
