I've had a really long day at work but knowing I had an assignment to submit this evening I got stuck in and had everything wrapped up and was out the door at 4.30. Into the house, quick bite to eat and then to the books.

Question to be tackled involves the importance (or otherwise) of material objects in the making and remaking communities (in a globalised context). So I'm getting through it nicely when I run slap bang into the following piece of creative writing which nearly upset the apple cart. In time honoured fashion I'm of course going to deftly sidestep this academic pothole and find a different definition but I thought somebody, somewhere may appreciate the following definition.

    Embedded cosmopolitanism
"offers an alternative to a strictly state-centric or spatially bounded interpretation of the morally constitutive community by combining an account of the moral agent as embedded in particular ties and loyalties with a powerful critique of the communitarian penchant for invoking associations with borders, set territories and given memberships"
    (Erskine, 2000, p. 575)

50 words - one comma - one full stop - its in my top 10 of lunatic collections of words, maybe even top 5!

    Anyway, back to it
