Four "Avengers" Movies During One Summer?

"The Incredible Hulk" Louis Leterrier spoke to LA Times about an idea he has for the upcoming "The Avengers" film, which includes not only bringing all the super heroes together, but also the directors.

"I'll tell you my real dream: To work with Joe Johnston and Kenneth Branagh and Jon Favreau and make like a triptych," he said. "We do four movies. We release them one a month for the summer. Or even every two weeks or three weeks. And the whole summer would be 'Avengers' summer."

He continued: "So we do it the way they make television shows. One story arc but told in installments by different directors. So all of the directors that touch part of the 'Avengers' world would do a part; we could make the movies shorter, maybe less than an hour and a half, and we use the same sets and save Marvel money. I would love to sit around a table with all of them a kick around the story. That's my dream."

Leterrier also mentioned that even though he is under contract to direct one more Marvel film, there are currently no plans for "The Incredible Hulk" sequel. He also said that "Captain America" is shaping up to be like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" meets "Rocketeer" and "Saving Private Ryan."

Sounds interesting to me, Would it work? I'm not so sure.

I wouldn't be a fan of it. I mean it could work if they do it the same way the LOTR franchise did it, but IMO it's too much releasing one after the other every month during one Summer.

I think we're teethering at the breaking point where people are simply getting 'superheroed out'. It might be simply too much.
Sure some superhero movies are great, but ohers just plain suck. For every Iron Man we have a Ghost Rider.

If this is going somewhere, sure i'll watch it. If it's just like everything else Marvel does (crossovers to make you buy/read stuff you normally wouldn't, just to keep up with the whole story), then i'll pass.
