i often hear it mentioned that xxx is a very good plo player but only ok at nlh. Are the skills required for the games really that different. What specifically do you need to be good at for plo that isnt that important for nlh.

when playing Omaha, prepare to be confused when you hear other players talking about 'wraps' and 'blockers'.

A 'wrap' is a type of sandwich favoured by the more health-conscious

'Blockers' are large gentlemen of African ancestry who stand still on an American football pitch in order to frustrate the efforts of smaller, more nimble types

Is there much difference in rakeback playing PLO compared to NLHE, say if you played 10k hands of each at the same limit?

Emotional control - Dont play PLO if you havnt got it mastered. You have to accept that you are going to lose a huge amount of hands in PLO and the swings can be huge... some people coming from a NLH background cannot handle that imo.

This is the breeding ground for mythical players, those fellers are on a whole different level of manual dexterity.
