After a week or so with my brooks saddle I am noticing a creaking noise coming from the rails, i checked it wasnt the seat post and am just wondering, are you supposed to grease the fixing points (can't imagine that would be great for a strong fit). I have tried tightening it but still the noise is there. Any suggestions?

It is part of the joy the is a Brooks, you are just going to have to get used to it :) Every time it creaks think how comfortable the natural flexing motion is.

A little bit of grease on the saddle rails can sometimes cure creaks, and although it might seem perverse, can make for a more secure fit - basically by easing friction between saddle rails and clamp you can get a tighter fit than would otherwise be possible.

However, nine times out of ten, a Brooks creaks because leather saddles are inherently creaky. I have a B-17 that creaks and I can get rid of the creak by increasing the tension on the bolt but the saddle quite quickly stretches out a little further and starts creaking again. Such is life.
