Aer Arran and the manx route.

Just wondering about the manx to London City route run by Aer Arran. Seeing as they run no other routes from either Isle of Man or LCY, that would mean that the aircraft would be either only running on that route or it will be flying empty to another airport for another route, which is a waste of money. Also just keeping an aircraft on that route for one (I think) return flight a day doesn't strike me as making money, and a waste of an aircraft. Any one got any insight to their reasoning?

plane is used 6 times a day
    IOM to LCY
    LCY to IOM
    IOM to LCY
    LCY to IOM
    IOM to LCY
    LCY to IOM
back to IOM to be used for first flight out the next day.

RE do run 2 flights a day from DUB-IOM. Im not sure of the timetable but presumeably there is scope in it to swap aircraft for maintenance/ops reasons when required.

Theres are a few factors that help the route,no competition on IOM-LCY, the traditional high yielding pax using LCY and very significent financial assistance from the IOM government for marketing the route, particularly in the first year.
