    Stolen shamelessly from another board.

    RAW IS Y2J BABY!!!!!!!!!

Hard to believe this is ten years ago. Listen to the crowd reactions, God wrestling was so hot in those days. No one has ever made a debut like this. Incredible stuff.

Even his second "debut" when he came back was brilliant, the crowd went wild

Pity someone had to leak the storyline cos if it had been a major surprise the roof would have come off the place

    Brilliant stuff!

Makes me feel old though :o

The book is a great read, giving all the backround to the debut. The Rock played his part great too.

I remember when I was the only person in school who watched WCW and I kept telling them how Jericho was better than anybody in the WWF at the time.

Got a lot of stick over it, but this and the following years of entertainment proved me right.

Best ever debut. The build up over the weeks was great, the mysterious millenium clock. What a pop when JERICHO flashes up on the screen for the first time. Nothing even comes close to this as the best ever debut.

I thought they made a hash of it tbh. The "viral" messages went on for too long, then on the night of his actual return the blew the pop for a backstage bit before he walked out on the stage.

Look at that for a debut. Jericho got weeks worth of build with the countdown clock and then gets a big debut promo interrupting The Rock. The best people get these days is a few video packages before they debut leading to a debut squash match.

    Case in point: R-Truth

So much potential. Really enjoyed his first match with Kenny Dykstra. Great wrestler. Popular with the fans. Then Vince stops his push because he sold some of Dykstras moves.

R-Truth should have at least been in a full fued for the US/IC title by now

Wow I feel old...but seriously "Best debut ever" - I beg to differ! :D

To be fair, his debut was great as was his interaction with the Rock. From my memory it went downhill for the next couple of moths for him after that though.

Or Christian who got nothing and just turned up on a random ECW episode where the commentators were totally dead for it. :(

Interesting snippet that ties in with the NWA fanfest thread: Ole Anderson was the voice of the Shockmaster.

I never laughed as hard watching wrestling as I did when The Rock just tore into him! "Listen you little jabroni." :D I know that it's not a great line in itself but the way The Rock said it was perfect.

Great video, what a pop. Its hard to believe that WWE were able to do something like that so well when you look at how they operate these days.

I remember the build up to his debut lasted 3/4 weeks and it was well worth the wait. Myself and a mate were watching in my house that night and we went crazy.

watching that video made me think of my favourite WWE debut

Great build up, even better feud to follow. When Kane brought the lights back up with his hands was a great idea. Only Taker was able to do this and made us believe that Kane was a major threat or perhaps a replacement for Taker.

jerichos debut was great, but then so was goldbergs wwe debut too (last great wwe debut imo), no surprise the rock was the guy opposite both, i wonder if someone less talented ie hardcore holly was in rocks position would either debut have come off as strong, rock is fantastic here
