Twinge in hip joint

    Hi Guys,

Just want your advice on something-have just finished my first week of the 'Couch to 5k' programme and have started to get a twinge in my hip joint. This twinge isn't exclusive to exercise-it's lingering after now too. Awkward to lie on or sit on for lengthy periods of time and even when i'm just walking around the house etc.
I had been ill for the last 7 months and took no exercise in this time, I started walking a few days a week and then decided on the 'couch to 5k' to try get back into the swing of things. The twinge came on the first day of the programme. I wasn't pushing myself too hard (as I said I'm recovering from an illness so don't want to over do it), it hasn't gotten any worse since then nor has it gotten any better... it's just a niggly little thing right in the joint and it's bugging the hell out of me!
I had a look around the forums about it but couldn't find much other than that it could possibly be an IT Band strain-what do you guys think? Or could it be as simple as needing a new pair of runners?

    Your help is much appreciated!:D

Proper runners is definitely important. Gait analysis is worth getting IMO. I'd suggest you go and see a sports physio though. Nobody can give you advice on here. Thread locked.
