    Hi All,

    I hope this is the right place to post this but basically I don't know where else to try.

    I have been trying to translate an inscription on a sword I picked up many years ago. As I don't even know what country the script originates from I was hoping somebody may recognize it and be able to point me in the right direction to getting it translated.

    Fell free to move this to a more suitable forum.

    Hi !
    It's all Japanese to me :)

    Often the clue to origin is in the handle and shape of the sword.
    give us an image of the sword in full !!
    I cant interpret the inscription , but I should be able to place the origin of the sword from the design !!

    The Chester Beatty library in Dublin Castle may be able to give you a translation and meaning
