Well since it was brought up I thought I'd start it, member number one is Pikachucheeks who brought it up :)

Basically you just ask the member whatever questions you want, mods feel free to delete if you think the thread is no inkeeping with the forum.
As a general rule, don't ask any question that could obviously make the poster in the spotlight uncomfortable, or any questions you would not answer yourself.

    So...

    How old are you?

    Whats your middle name?

    What's your most visited forums?

    What's your favourite cartoon?

not really alot of forums have it, it's just a way to get to know someone, if they don't mind answering

    Hi. I wasn't asking you so you're ok :)

    Just saw this now!

Don't mind answering questions and I do think, if people are up for it, that it's a good idea to have a member spotlight, so we can get to know people using the ladies lounge better.

But I'm going to wait for a moderator to approve, before answering anything, if that's ok!

if ya want to get to know some one use msn or pms why should any one be glorified bye having a thread made about them. "reagrdless of who that person is". What your doing is causing a click, clicks are all well and good but on the internet they become very unwelcoming, as a group of people.

thats not really very cool and you can see the clicks on many many many forums on this site.

Its bad enough that threads about, who do we want to go drinking with are started but ones like these are just making the place naf!

    I'm with Snow-Monkey on this.
As a relative newbie/someone with low post count I guess, it's apparent to me there are certain friendships/cliques within forums - and that's great and all but it puts me off trying to join in because it's like well you guys already have your forum, you're not looking for new input...

I don't intend to hurt or offend anyone with this post but I think tLL would be more welcoming if this kinda thing was kept via visitor messages/PMs etc.

I half agree and I half disagree. A lot of forums do seem like there is a certain clique of people, but I also think getting to know people like this is a really fun idea. You might think you have nothing in common with someone, only to find out you both like knitting or something :p

I dont think its really ethical to suddenly highlight somebody and ask them personal questions on a public discussion forum..if you want to get to know somebody use pm or whatever.

Relax! It could be a bit of fun ;) Provided it does not get to personal!

thast a really fair point and one I agree with!

But we all know pikachucheeks shes an opinionated girl whos intelligent. I buy no means, am attacking her...

what I'm saying is I don't think this kind of thread belongs in this forum. I always thought of a LL as dude where i can read information and understand women in a better maybe sorta, also a very interesting room to read.

but as BNA GIRL or skywards as relative new comers, I think it would be better to do it with the new comers like bna girl or skywards who have a reason to come back who feel welcomed bye any part of the site.

Okay point taken but tbh if I saw members discussing themselves in a thread I'm probably not gonna join in, even if we did have common interests. To me it's like eavesdropping on a conversation.
I'd rather get to know people through general discussion threads.
    Well that's just me. :o

I think of LL as for LADIES, not for all you stray males! :pac:

We're doing this in T & P and I think the noc forum did it too, so its not a completely foreign idea. I think its a really fun idea :p.

Skywards has already completed one :)

As for the personal question, I really don't think asking someone there favourite forum or cartoon is personal tbh.

We'll see if the mods think this type of thread has a place on the forum. No harm no foul either way.

Closed for the moment anyway. Gonna get some input from fellow mods, taking into account your own input too, on this type of thread. Yes it has worked eslewhere, but it may not here. It seems contentious anyway. Healthy debate an all.:) Thanks.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
