    Ok,
So I was just watching some recorded shows in my DVR and it turned itself off.
It came back on again, but turned off again a couple of min's later.
This time it wouldn't come back on.
I went over to the box and there was a "buzzing" noise coming off it and it was VERY Hot, like way more than usual, and then it started to smell like burning is the only way i can descibe it.

I've plugged it out and am in the process of getting it replaced (hopefully, just on to them now)

anyone else had a problem like this ever?

When I had Sky Plus Yes.

If sounds like the hard drive has failed.

    Hmm...
The electricial "buzz" was more coming from the PSU area of the of the DVR.
They are sending someone out on Wed, but was told that when the tech team come in tomorrow they may want to send someone out sooner.

I plugged it in again to see if there had been a change, and no. Still "buzzing" and still getting hot as hell after a few mins...
    Something is definitely not right!

I'm moving in a few weeks, and going to upgrade to the HD DVR, but until i can't do with out my normal DVR... just a bummer that I've lost all the movies and tv shows i'd not watched yet! :(
