Nissan QUASHQAI question

    Lads my father in law has a 09 ( january) 1.5 diesel Quashqai, It has burned a litre of oil so far he has done 10000 kms. Is this normal r could it be a sign of troulble to come any help please.

    We have a Megane with the same engine and it uses no oil. I would be concerned.

    What mileage is on it? Did it get its first service and has it been serviced at the recommended intervals? How is he certain that it has used a litre - in the grand scheme of things its not a lot to use over a 10k period. I've had cars that used 0.5L every 1000...

    10000 km Only 8 months old not due its first service yet. I myself do 40000 to 60000 a year in a 2.0 diesel and have never burned oil like this I am not a mechanic so I am I am not in a postoin to help him.

    New cars do tend to burn a bit more oil than normal. Keep an eye on it, and when its in for a service get the garage to check it. Remember, its under warranty so there should be no issues.
