3 Series Start/Stop function (efficient dynamics) not working!

Hi guys,

Up to about a month ago what BMW term "the efficient dynamic" function on my car was working fine. When stopped at traffic lights the engine would die and then automagically start-up again when needed. But it hasn't worked now for weeks and I'm wondering why! Any ideas?

The override switch isn't on so it's definitely not that.

Any advice appreciated!

Bring it somewhere that has BMW diagnostics equipment and they will tell you. Most likely a wire has come off or something else simple, but a diagnostic will tell you where the issue is.

What does the manual say? Are there circumstances when it won't function?

Are you pulling up the handbrake and keeping your feet on the floor, off the pedals?

There are several circumstances where it won't work -

e.g . If the car is not warmed up

If the Climate doing a lot of cooling or heating

The car reckons the battery is a bit low etc etc

It's in the manual

Isn't it still under warranty?

Should be,they only started making them in late '07
