Ciaran Mac's sideline in the first half against Dublin. What a player.

FFS, has this turned into the 'worst moments for a Dublin supporter thread', I'm sure you could squeeze a few from last Monday into it! (Forgot Gra**am Gera**ty's one from the corner flag at the canal end a few years ago...sneaky claps were given!)

start of the second half kildare galway 98 enter Ja Fallon

start of the second half kildare galway 98 enter Ja Fallon

as ive said before, an incredible point.

Fitzies against dublin has to be the winner for this, when you take into account the fact that he hadnt touched the ball yet and kerry were a point down with 52,000 people watching it.

point of the year so far - Tom Sullivan v Dublin? :D

Plenty of goal of the year contenders.

I remember Graham Geraghty scored a point from right out at the corner flag in Croke park a few years ago. Cant remember who it was against though.

This one is my favourite :D (1:33)

Ciaran Mc against dublin in 06 and Geraghty...its very hard to remember..that fella from galway ran the pitch and scored a point i forget his name tho in 01 i think

Martin Daly's backheel against Cork in the 90's.

James McCartan scored a wonder point in the 94 Ulster final after hopping the ball basketball style.

Maurice Fitz's free against Mayo from the sideline on the 13m line with his left leg.

Maurice Fitz in 2001 against Dublin.

Sean Og De Paor after Donnellans great run in 98.

Declan O Sullivan, last minute against Dublin in 06 after something like 25 passes. inside the Dublin half.

Gerraghtys collection against dublin in that first half was the best ive ever seen from one player in the same game.

Doohers point against Kerry in the final last year was pretty spectacular.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 400 ✭✭Dubhthamlacht

Dooher's first point against Kerry in last years all ireland final. An inspirational score.

I do remember Damien Reilly from Cavan scoring against Down (i think) from an impossible angle. He volleyed it I think? Can anyone else remember it?

One point I will always remember was from a club game in Monaghan where ex Monaghan player Peter Duffy scored one of the most outrageous points I ever seen. It was a senior chp semi-final i think. Running at full speed parallel to the 20 yard line and almost at the the sideline with 2 defenders harassing him. He didn't even get to turn or look at the posts and yet swung it over the bar. You should have heard the collective gasp of the crowd.

Point of the year so far was Cribbin's incredible solo effort:

    followed by Stephen Griffin's:

One of the best ever has to be Seanie Johnson's last year:

along with James Nallen in '96:

Larry Reilly against Derry in Casement 1998/99. Beat about 5 Derry players and stuck the ball over the bar from the corner flag... What a legend.

If i remember Larry Reilly correctly he would rather shoot from the corner flag than play the ball out to anyone else :D:D

Im a Kerryman and was there for the Fitz point against the Dubs but I got the say the best point I have ever seen in the flesh was Dooher in the final last year.

Best seen live in person = Brian Dooher in the final last year.

Best ever, Maurice Fitz in Thurles from the sideline. Iconic.

Derek Duggan scoring a last minute free from miles out to draw the Connacht final v Mayo in 1991 i think. Amazing kick

Yes - I agree - mentioned this in a different post recently - I know it gets exaggerated but reckon it was about 65+ yards out into a stong wind with the last kick of the game - not bad for a 19 year old.

Last minute of the 1996 All-Ireland Final Replay v Mayo

Brendan Reilly gets the ball on the Mayo 14-yard line along the Cusack Stand side-line, goes one way, sends a dummy with his right foot, then curls the ball over with his weaker left foot from the tightest of angles to win Meath the All-Ireland.....

Can't find a link for this point unfortunatly but I'm sure every Meath(and Mayo) fan know what I'm talkin about!!

    Twas pure class..........

Fitzy from the sideline v Mayo.

Was there for the minor game and always remember this point in the senior.

i was in the stand that afternoon in castlebar, incredible kick against a gale force wind, easily 60+ yards out, last kick of the game to level it up, easily the greatest point i have ever seen in person and i have witnessed lots of sideline points over the years but duggans free was just pure magic, as another poster said to think duggan was just 19 then, all the talent in the world, so unlucky with injuries

Including Frankies against Kildare in Portlaoise a couple of years back??

I was there in Castlebar that day - would have carried at least another 5-10 yards!

Taking out the county bias - Fitzgeralds point against Dublin would have to be top of the list

Kevin Walsh's boomer against Donegal in 2003 to scramble an undeserved draw is my favourite ever as a Galway man. The best has to be Fitzgerald's swirler against Dublin though, Roberto Carlos-esque.

There could be a new contender. Maybe it was just the circumstances of the epic comeback by Cavan against Wicklow last night but the point that Seanie Johnston got from near the endline looked impossible from where I was on the terrace.

Looking forward to seeing it on TV tonight.

That was some point alright. Will it be on tonight? Any of the cameras I saw were covered up yesterday.

I hope the match wont be on the tv anyway :(.
