Hello guys, planning on getting a long run in tomorrow morning around the Blackrock area starting from the village. Just moved there so don't know the area all that well. Can anyone suggest a good 13/14 mile route? Know I can sketch one out on mapmyrun and other sites but thought I'd try here first to see if any recommendations.I'm trying to up my mileage from a half marathon the longest I've done yet.
    Thanks. :)

Follow the coast! Would imagine Blackrock to Killiney/Shankill and back would be about 14 miles?

EDIT: That's presuming you mean Blackrock, Co Dublin

You can go from Dalkey over Killiney Hill into Shankill or go around the coast Vico / Sorrento Road if you want spectacular sea views. You can even pass bono and the edges houses on the way and Enyas castle with a minor detour.

You could always get the Dart to Greystones and Run back along the cliff path into Bray go into Shangannagh Park after the cemetery cross the railway bridge in the park and then follow the coast up to Killiney, up the steps at the end of the beach and follow the coast road back to Blackrock

Running North along the coast from Blackrock is a good option as well.
A 6.5 miles out and back will bring you past the Booterstown bird sanctuary, with great sea views by Sandymount and then out towards Ringsend where there is a nice off-road track by the coast if you don't mind getting your shoes dirty.

Run the full distance North and taking the Dart back is a good option as well. At every mile you have an easy bail-out option if you need to abandon the run early.

13 miles North will bring you along the Clontarf-Sutton coastal path whre there is a cycleway with a great surface for fast running depending on how tough you want to make the run.

Extending the run out to 20/21 miles , which you will need to do if training for a marathon brings you to Howth - either directly into the village or up Howth hill if you fancy a challenge.

that's great thanks for suggestions :) I ran a 14 miler last night easily enough. Great idea about running by the dart line, i like the sound of the that as a bail out option. Will aim for run to Howth first week in Sept if training going well.
