    Machine Head - The Blackening
Not a new band but it's a newish album (2007) which is brilliant
Worth checking the older albums too :pac:

    Airbourne - Runnin' Wild
You like AC/DC so Airbourne would be worth a check :pac:

    Mastodon - Crack the Sky

    Lamb of God - Wrath
With Both Mastodon and Lamb of God you should also check previous albums if you like those.

When I think of more il add them in :pac:

    This.

If AC/DC ever decide to pass the torch, they'll give it to Airbourne.

As you like Pantera - check out Five Finger Death Punch's "The way of the fist"

    An excellent groove metal album.

this is some stuff I've liked from the last year or so.......

    Whitechapel - This Is Exile
Chaosfear - Image Of Disorder (not a new style but well executed)

Arkea - Years In The Darkness

    Chthonic - Pandemonium

there's tonnes of stuff out there, check out some of the reviews on the European Metal sites, usually have decent reviews........but to be honest I find a lot of new bands are not only very similar to each other but are just clones........

Other new albums (though not new bands) ive been into in the past while are- Mastodon "Crack the skye" and Machine Head " The Blackening".

For the love of all that is sacred please don't listen to Crack the Skye if you haven't heard Mastodons earlier stuff. Will put you right off! It's a little "tame" in comparison.

I might sound a little fecked off, but I've tried to get in to that album three bleeding times and still no joy. I do like the single, but the rest bored me to tears.

    Ok so heavy....

Check out Crowbar (self titled), Dying Fetus (Stop at Nothing), Electric Wizard (Dopethrone), Cannibal Corpse (Kill), Bloodbath (any album!), Weedeater (God Luck and Goodspeed) and Mastodons first two albums (Remission, Leviathan).

I completely disagree,I thought the first few albums were ok but couldn't get into them. I listened to crack the skye because I was going to see them at metallica and loved it from the very first listen, definitely my favourite Mastodon album.

I agreee that Crack The Skye is an amazing album, but it is totally different to the rest of their material. If u want to listen heavy stuff then i would recomend Blood Mountian by them. Simply an epic album.

    meshuggah "obzen"

    some easy listening.

I tried to listen to that album all in one go and I was nearly in tears by the end of it :pac: Its so intense and theres no let up at all! Thats not to say its not a really good album though.

On topic: Wrath by Lamb of God is fairly heavy and I like it a lot. Are You Dead Yet? by Children of Bodom is quite heavy and melodic but maybe not to everyone's taste. Its not new but tis good.

I dont get Airbourne though... They obviously model themselves on AC/DC and are definitely nothing new. They sound exactly like AC/DC too. I dont get why they're so popular...

Obzen is arguably Meshuggah's most accesible album.

Children of Bordem > started out well but went down hill alot the last few years.

    Wrath just kicks ass.

    Nope.

    Chaosphere.

I is a single track EP.It may last 24 or so minutes but it lacks the pacing and pure brutality of Chaosphere.
