Not really going to put a team together, but ommisions from above, I'd have players like Gitteau at 10, JDV at 12, Hernandez at 15, Parresi at 8...

Kearney and Heaslip may be a bit biased...both top notch players, both potential to be the best in the world in their positions, but I don't think either of them are. YET! (although Kearney never ceases to amaze when he pulls on his big performances...they're nothing short of spectacular how he commands the full back role, and Heaslip is getting better and better and is certainly at the head table of 8's at the moment)

Yes I put Parisse and Lee Byrne in there because you cant ignore 6 nations performances in 2009, and I slotted in Hernandez because he is an awesome outhalf.

Believe me I was extremely tempted to put Giteau in there and probably should of guess I was just influenced by Steyns performance on the weekend! On Kearney I think right now he is without doubt the best full back the form he showed on the Lions tour was simply awesome and Heaslip in my opinion outperformed Parisse in the 6N this year.

Duckysauce, I'm assuming you've never played rugby at any sort of high standard if you think Botha was intentionally trying to injure Jones...

It was a fairly standard counter ruck, nothing to get excited about...

Hes not close to Bod and Robers and Nonu are both better 12's.

I have decided to edit my team

    1.Jenkins
    2.Du Plessiss
    3.Haymen
    4.Botha
    5.Matfield
    6.Elsom

    11.Sivivatu
    12.Gituea
    13.O'Driscoll
    14.Naps Nalanga
    15.Kearney

Gitau at 12 will provide for creativity outside Carter,in his best position at 12.Hairydonkey comes in at 8 because we need a big unit to make up for Brussows lack of size.

Might even go the whole hog and play Elsom at 8 and Ferris at 6.

Ill accept that some might be off the boil the past year but:

    15. I Corleto
    14. C Heymans
    13. B O'Driscoll
    12. J Roberts
    11. B Habana
    10. F Steyn

    5. P O'Connell

    16. J Smit

    5. Victor Matfield
    4. Bakkies Botha
    3. John Smit (Captain)
    2. Dimitri Szarzewski
    1. Cian Healy

These players would be my pick,
    Dan Carter's back.
I had to make room for Elsom and Brussouw with Parisse in the middle.
Botha and Matfield are the best second row pairing in the history of the game.
Du Plessis is the obvious choice but it's Szarzewski at hooker, it might not be popular but i've been saying for years that he's the complete hooker (for 60mins according to French coaches).
Cian Healy, i now know can scrummage, but he's a prop with another dimension.
    No Munster players :( 5 South Africans,3 Leinster(4inc.Elsom) and 4 Irish.

What made you change your mind as regards O'Driscoll? Wasn't you that said he wouldn't start for Ireland in the Guiness Series! And now he is worthy of a place in you're top 15;)

    15. I Corleto

Honestly, are you nuts? I didn't quote your whole post for space reasons but - none of Corleto, Worsely or Lo Cicero are even the best in their position in their COUNTRY, nevermind the whole world

And by god I hope you meant M Steyn not F Steyn at 10 :pac:

    I meant Morne Steyn sorry....

Well, to me, Argentina are best served with Hernandez at fly-half, Contepomi inside centre, and Corleto at full back, hence their flying world cup in 2007.

Worsley, to me the best blindside of the past 5 or six years, but a bit long in the tooth at this stage.

Lo Cicero - one of my favourite props in world rugby. If it was last year, id have got away with it, but yeah... this is current

I can guarantee you I certainly never said O'Driscoll wouldn't start for Ireland. Quite the opposite.

Also O'Connell wouldn't get near a world 15 after his Lions performance. A great player but certainly not the best second row in the world in fact I'd have a few players ahead of him

    Worsley better than Elsom? Really?

Worsley can tackle, but he does nothing else. He can't see a pass as was seen when he spurned 2 or 3 try scoring opportunities for the lions. He's a man to do a job for England, which is make tackles, he's extremely limited beyond this.
