My sky box has gone kaput only getting some stations I was thinking on getting a new sky + however the installer from Sky is saying they dont go into attics and he says he has to drill holes in my wall and take the cables in at the windows.
    Can anyone tell me
    1. Can I get the old box fixed and is it worth it?
    2. Sure to god with a full sky set up in already there is no need to run extra cables.? Is it not a case of replace the box?? with a sky +box

    Any help appreciated

You need 2 cables so the box is able to record one channel while your'e watching another. (Or to record 2 programmes simultaneously) You can get away with one cable but you seriously reduce the box's capabilities

who installed the sky box originally?

can you run in a couple of cables ( temp) so he dosn't have to go into the attic?
