Very quick question as Im about to click proceed to checkout :D

    Is there much difference between:

    Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T4200 (2.0GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache)
    Has 4096MB RAM (499 Euro)

    or

    Intel® Celeron Dual Core T3000 (1.80 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 1 MB L2 Cache)
    Has 3072MB RAM (429 Euro)

The price difference between the 2 isn't much so was just wondering if it made much difference - buying it as a present for the GF who is starting a postgrad in Software Development.

    Thanks,

    Well not much mate

but Id still go for the one with 2 Ghz and the extra ram but not if its going to cost more than €50 extra

ram is cheap and yes the extra processor power would be quite attractive:o

There's a pretty minor difference between the two, the top one is better no doubt, but not by a long shot.

€70 for the slightly better processor and 1GB extra ram? Nah, if it was for yourself i'd say maybe, but if it's for the gf i'd say save the cash and get yourself a few pints.

I'd want the extra everything. 10-20% drop in compile times could be very nice tbh.
