Wifi possibly broken on my iPhone

    Hi.
    I have a Jailbroken/Unlocked iPhone 3G 16Gb on 3.0.
I have everything working fine, but I can't connect to Wifi.
I can see the network, but entering the key will not work.
I have tried a few different networks. I can connect using my laptop. I have tried upper and lower case.
I have tried to connet through "Other" too, and tried WPA, WPA2 and WEP.
I have don a full restore, reset network connections and enabled/disabled airplane mode.
    Any other thoughts?
Does iPhone use the same codes that a laptop would to connect?
I am an iPhone newbie, but done a lot of searching so far on this.
    Thanks,
    Ross.

My wife's iPhone has the exact same issue and I've pretty much gone through the same steps as you. It's the 16gig 3G model and was bought the same time as I got mine. It worked for the first few months and then one day whilst she was on Skype, it disconnected from our home wireless network. Ever since, I've been unable to get it connected even though it can see the various wireless networks available.

I'd also be interested in a possible fix to this.

Have you tried removing the security on the wifi network to see if it will connect to an unsecure network. Maybe try to connect to a friend or families wifi to rule out if the iphone is broken.

I had the same problem my iphone would not connect. After a few hours of trying everything i could think of i realised i had mac filtering enabled on my router so only devices on my access list could access wifi. So maybe check thats not enabled.

I haven't tried disabling security. I'll do that this evening.
I manually entered the IP address of the default gateway to the STATIC tab. As there was no details in the DHCP tab. This allowed me to connect, but I knocked this off by turning on airplane mode then, stupidly. Haven't been able to recreate this since. Do you normally have information/settings in the DHCP tab?
    Thanks.

Slightly different, but my girlfriend had a problem with her iPod Touch that had the exact same symptoms as you are experiencing and it turned out that the Wifi chip had broken / gotten loose. She had to send it back to Apple but had a replacement device within 3 days (she sent it off on a Friday and had replacement on the Monday).

I'm thinking it may be something like this unfortunately.
I tried with no security and it connected for a second and dropped again. Have not had any more luck than that.

Should I see something in the DHCP fields?
