As in Mobile broadband dongles for laptops.

I see a thread for speed tests but was wondering what sort of results peoples are getting using mobile broadband.

I currently have Eircom 2 mb broadband as line wont support 3 mb. I pay €60 for 2 months so why dont I switch to 3 mobile for 7.2 mb speeds and only €20 pm??

Anybody use these and how do you find them? Would love to see spedd test run using them.

check up above this forum and there's a forum called Midband ...there is a reason why all the 3G internet posts go in there, because it's not quite broadband ;)

You would be absolutely bananas to ditch fixed line (phone line) broadband for a 3G service, but I'll let watty hammer the truth into you :D

Because Three don't have broadband, they have mobile internet access, or midband as we like to say. It is NOT always on, NOT low latency, NOT suited to VOIP or gaming, NOT guaranteed you'll even have a connection.

It is for mobile internet access, and should not be sold as a home broadband product. The marketing people, minister for communications, department of communications and Comreg would like to think differently, but they are wrong.
