    Hi,

We are have installed a water treatment system to our house (high lime area) where we have to pour salt into the system that treats it. The plumber who installed it left the cold water tap in the kitchen free from this system (ie it just comes from the normal town supply). Would this still be safe to use for drinking water and for a babies formula? Their is one tap in the kitchen where the hot and cold water come from, so we were worried that the hot water would be carrying water through the spout with the added salt, hence the cold water that also comes through may also have added salt??

    Are we right to worry!?

this would be grand to use for the baby formula, you are boiling it first before making up the bottles so no danger here.
As to drinking it, you cud always pick up a empty test bottle from your local hospital lab (depending where you are situated) and pay the 35 euro to get your water tested for drinking purposes. I know in Galway the lab at the back of UCHG has empty bottles inside the door where you can bring back with your water in it and get it tested for 35 euro.

Just checked again and it actually passes through a filter on its way in. I think that should be fine? The main worry was it not getting salt into it due to it coming out the same tap as the hot water
