I did a check on a car on motor check. It says the car is white but i know it is black. Is that a bad sign?

 depends, lots of reasons both good and bad for a colour change. You need to find out the full story before you spend any money buying it thats for sure.

no i don't want to buy it but just wondered about it. the new colour would have to be notified to tax office and insurance company wouldn't it? Not saying it hasn't

I would say a lot of cars are registered with wrong colours...

my mate has a blue car and the cert says black, my silver GT was registered as grey????

Some was telling me that the VRO registered their car (a Jap import) on the VLC as make 'Unknown' and model 'Unknown'. I didn't think to ask about the colour.

Easy enough to mistake blue for black and grey for silver, but black for white.... naaah don't think so.
