European Silhouette championships and World Cup

    Just to pass on some good news . The Irish Silhouette Team returned from the European Championships and World cup held in Decin in the Czech Republic From the 16th – 26th July

    In total the Irish massed a superb tally of 15 medals of Gold, Silver and Bronze in both rifle and pistol events.

    In the Smallbore Light Rifle M C produced some fine results to
    take a Gold medal in International Class with an aggregate score of 64/80.With M P shooting 53/80 to take a Bronze in Master Class and
    D R hammered out a Bronze in 'B' Class.

    In Smallbore Silhouette Rifle M C shot a 68/80 resulting in a
    shoot off with Luc Walgraeve of France to decide the overall Silver and Bronze where M C came out on top with a score of 4/5 to Walgraeve's 2/5,giving M C the Silver medal. Once again in Master Class M P took another Bronze as he shot a 56/80.

    M C also scooped a Silver in the World Cup Smallbore Light Rifle and a European and World Cup Smallbore Rifle aggregate Bronze with 132/160 points.

    In the Big Bore Hunting rifle M P secured an overall Bronze with a score of 25/40 and a Silver in the world Cup after shooting 7 out of 10 rams at 500metres . With M C taking a Silver in 'A' Class
    with a score of 22/40 and D Q taking a Bronze in 'B' Class.

    In Big Bore Silhouette Rifle M P managed to secure a Gold in 'B' Class.

    In another first for Ireland M P and D Q both secured a
    Bronze medal in the Field Pistol 100m Handgun events .M P secured the 'B' Class
    Bronze in Field Pistol Open Sights and D Q clenched the 'B' Class Bronze in the Field Pistol Any Sights event.
