What weight can you squat / deadlift

What weight can people dead lift and squat in proportion to their own body weight. I've only recently started doing weights in order to try and build up the freakishly skinny legs. I got myself some of these bad boys and I'm planning to get an additional set every week.
At the moment I'm dead-lifting 35kg and I don't feel sore even after like 100 reps.
However 20 squats without any weights and I'm in bits. I can also leg press 160kg. I've got really unevenly distributed strength around my body
    (I weight 60kg BTW)

So, any suggestions and or brag about what you're able to do. :)

I assume your taking the p!ss, or you're bored being off school for the summer.

You'd be much better off concentrating on what YOU can lift than trying to compare yourself to other people. It's irrelevant what weight you use as long as you are imrpoving. I weigh around 95kg and have been training for over 15years, so I can't see what benefit you could gain from knowing what I lift.

P.S nice one with the 100 reps

You should lower the reps to a weight that you can only do no more than 15 reps with and build from there. Good luck, and don't get too big or you might have to buy a new school uniform.

    Actually I'm 22 and unemployed.
It'd be 3 sets of 33 without feeling pain the next day so it's not that great.

I would bring them back while you still can (you have 30 days). The plastic ones degrade over time, also they are bulky so take up too much room in your house and on the bar. Is your bar solid? if not it will not be rated to high wieghts, my hollow ezcurl began to bend with 100kg on it. e.g. I can fit 60kg on a dumbbell with 3x10kg plates each side, I expect I could only get 2x10kg plastic ones on the same bar.

These cast iron ones are only ~€5 more. http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9003194/Trail/searchtext%3E10KG.htm
However for deadlifting I would highly recommended getting 20kg plates, these are larger diameter so lift the bar up higher. I got the irish lifting ones and am still very pleased with them, no sign of the paint degrading, while all my argos ones have a little rust, also the tri grip allows you to use them for shrugs or other things. Actually argos will give you a full cash refund if you want and irishlifting are only €2 per kilo too.

In fairness I think he is interested in proportions between squat & deadlift, rather than a pissing contest.

These are the crossfit ones http://www.crossfit.com/cf-journal/WLSTANDARDS.pdf

OP I am 26, 6ft and about 82kg and I can deadlift 160kg but the max I have squatted is 110kg

I am just bad at squatting and wish it was higher :(

I have been strength training for about 3 months now so I am not a seasoned veteran by any stretch but those are my figures

As others have said doing 100 reps is not a great way to progress strength or muscle building wise.

    What are your goals?

I suppose I'm trying to get to a normal weight but by building up muscle as opposed to fat.

I've got really unevenly distributed strength around my body. I have strong calves (can leg press roughly 3x body weight) and I'm happy with my upper body strength (can do 20 pull-ups).

But from the lower half of my back to the back of my knees is laughabe. It's all bone. Boney arse and all. I'm looking to build up this area.

I suppose I'll be happy if I can get up to a normal weight for my height. i.e 11 stone. I think the best way to do this will be dead-lifts and squats.

The purpose of this thread is to see people's ratio of dead-lift to sqaut weights. So as to figure out a rough guide for fixing my back leg to front leg unevenness.

Good advice, I ordered two of them earlier today and yer man dropped them down to my house this evening. (I'd recommend irish-lifting.com, great service :))
So now I have 75kg to play with.

I never tried to get stronger before. Always just wanted to get bigger but kind of came to the conclusion that unless I was lifting decent weights I wouldn't improve much.

Anyone I know who can squat, bench and deadlift multiples of bodyweight looks in decent shape (unless they have a power belly of course :P )

My max lifts were about the same for over a year and I was bored, so I started strength training 3 months ago and have increased all my max lifts.

So while i have been lifting weights for a lot longer than 3 months I have only been strength training for that period of time and I really enjoy it. I find the programmes progressive and they're very goal orientated so it keeps focus.

Ah you can't be gettin away with saying it like that!!! I thought you were some sort of genetic freak with your 3 months!

I'm 77kg and 5'11", max squat was 115kg about a month ago and max deadlift is 140kg. Deadlift is lacking somewhat, I'd like a double bodyweight deadlift sometime soon, pulling 140kg didn't feel maximal the last time so maybe I'm closer than I think.

I should have put strength in bold I guess

I am piss weak when you consider I have been lifting (in some form or other) for quite a while

Hopefully the numbers keep going up throughout the year though

OP my advice is you start some form of programme as opposed to just lifting willy nilly and read the stickies about what you need to do nutrition wise to grow
