How big are Shimano Shoes?

From reading online everyone says you should go up a size in Shimano shoes. I'm a 9/10 which is 43/44, so should I go for 45 or 46? Unfortunately there are no bike shops near me with Shimano shoes in my size in stock to test.

I find the fit pretty normal - certainly not bigger than my regular shoes.

I'm refering to road shoes if that makes any difference.

Have to agree it makes no difference with cycling shoes, have a Shimano pair of MTB shoes, European size 46 for UK 11 with no complaints and in fact fit better than my road SIDI's

I wear 46 in normal shoes, but 48 in shimano and 47 in sidi.

Shimano road and mtb shoes tend to fit the same (at least mine do). They're also narrower fitting than some brands which may explain why people get larger sizes.

I have heard the contrary, that Shimano are quite wide fitting. I only have their sandals (two different models) but they are pretty wide certainly.

Feck this, I'll get some Adidas shoes instead.

You'll need to go 1.5 sizes smaller with Adidas shoes. Maybe even 2 sizes if you wear cowboy boots.

Adidas are pretty narrow, particularly constraining in the big toe area. Certainly more so than Sidis. Specialized in turn are wider than (standard width) Sidis.

Also- I note that Wiggle have a both road and MTB Pearl Izumi shoes half price as their special offer this week (no idea what they fit like though.)

Cheers for that blorg, just got a pair of the attack shoes there. Even if the fit isn't perfect and I have to send them back for a replacement, I'll end up better off!
