My love life has become a cliche.

I fell for someone I shouldn't have.........the thing is he's living with someone.

We've known each other for 2+ years and we've been seeing each other for just over a year. We've been talking about being together but despite all the assurances that this would work out and that we would be together eventually nothing has changed.

When I bring this up he tells me that he just needs some more time, to wait for him and it all sounds so possible when we talk but then I think of all the deadlines that have passed already...he lease being up...starting his new job...etc etc

I really love this guy but do these things ever work out?

I have closed the poll, as they are not allowed in PI/RI.

Please take time to read the charter.

It's the kind of story you hear a lot about here. He won't leave her. They never do. Why would he when he can get everything he wants without a struggle? Sorry to be blunt, but move on and find someone who has some respect for you.

theres always a chance - even if it might be getting slimmer and slimmer.....

However..... chances are this guy is on to a good thing and doesn't see the point in changing anything - he has two women in his life, one of which knows about the other and is accepting the fact that she cant have him entirely to herself.

it might be best for you to stop seeing him and let him decide what he wants to do ...... he may come running after you or he may decide to stay with the other woman....even if he comes running after you.... you may have moved on or you may decide that he's not worth it.

He's probably not worth it either !!! you should/could just enjoy your freedom and have a couple of girly nights on the town....just to have a bit of fun.... keep your mind off him and other things.

Ps. That advice is from a guy (Me)

If he hasn't left his gf yet then he never will, it's been a yr!!!

You should also put yourself into his gf shoes - he's living with her!!! Thats a serious commitment and she must really love him. How is she going to feel if she finds out he has been cheating on her for the past yr?

Have a bit of respect for yourself and get rid of him.....

Dump him. Even if he did leave her for you , would you ever be able to truly trust him? I know I wouldnt. If he can do it do her he could do it to you. Its a loose loose situation. You need to forget about him and find someone who loves you and wants to be with you. Just you. Its hard Im sure, but needs to be done imo.

I dated a girl who was with someone else a few years back. She did not tell me and conveniently he worked nights.

It was ideal for her as she had arranged an exit for herself if she wanted it. It was not ideal for me and as soon as I found out and discussed it with her she had a lot of reasons for not wanting to end the relationship with him.

These were just excuses and she contacted me frequently until a year ago but I had moved on.She is still doing the same thing with someone else.

My inclination is that you should finish with him and find someone else as a year of waiting as someone elses fallback position is far too long.
