Im going to go to Drogheda Airsoft on Saturday and it will be my first time going to a skirmish. I have all my own gear. What should i expect? Do i just walk on in? I know were the site is but im just kinda nervous going. I will be on my own. Also would it be ok putting my Aeg and camo in a sports bag or would i look like a complete twat

    Thanks Guys :)

    Sean.

As long as you're AEG can't be seen, you'll be grand.
Just remember, a sense of humour is vital...
    Have fun!

I will be using the stock battery that came with my aeg. It just a standered kalash ak 74 battery. Should it be ok? I will be getting a better one as soon as i get a bit more money

    Thanks! :)

Just dont for get to bring a bottle of water for yourself. Nothing worse then dehydration. And dont be afraid to talk to other people there.

You might be ok, I had problems with my stock battery the first time I went,
if the site has battery charging facilities, you should be grand though!

Drogheda do have charging facilities. And I think lunch time is around 1.30-2.30, but it depends on the games played and if they run long or not.

And I use a sports bag for holding my gear, then again I don't really care what other people think of me :P.

Don't worry about going on your own, my advise is to just get chatting to people.

Lets say i arrive when a game is already on. Do i have to wait or can i jump right in?

Don't worry about being on your own, i went to my first skirmish on my own and never once felt on my own. Don't worry, we don't bite <insert sex joke>. Just remember to have fun and be safe

Thanks for the kind words guys ;) Is there a waiver i need signed (im 17)?

Edit: Also is a full face mask a must? Or are "Protective Glasses" ok?

Have a look on their website, there is indeed a waiver linked to from the bottom of the Site Ops page at http://www.droghedaairsoft.com/

You can use just glasses, but be sure they're rated for this kind of thing, and ideally have no spaces a BB could slip through (although some people are happy enough to take their chances with that). Full face protection can be nice, but most importantly protects your teeth, which can hurt if hit (doesn't happen often) and there is the odd story of someone having his teeth damaged. Again, most people just take their chances. I like to have a face mask handy, but that's because I'm too pretty to wreck in good conscience.

Ok i postd this in the drogheda section but didnt get a reply. Do i have to be at the site when it opens. eg. 10.00am or can i arrive any time during the day? Last question i promise

    Thanks! :)

It is highly recommended that you get there on time, either in the morning or at the half day mark.
As there is a safety briefing and usually if you miss that you don't get to play. And if you arrive late you won't have a clue whats happening in-game.

Also if your late you'll be paying the same price as if you were there on time. So why pay for less time airsofting?
