i have the tiny terror combo and after speaker break in , its still a bit thin and boxy - id like to get an sealed extension cab ( ornage do a few )

    not a 4 by 12 as i have no room , but maybe a 1 or 2 by 12 .
    16 ohm

anyoone have a good suggestion that wont kill the poocket. ?

Recently got their 2*12" Brit/American series, and stuck two Celestion Vintage 30's in it.
Sounds awesome. Great built quality and finish. Excellent selection of tolex and grillclothes too.

I've read that new Celestion speakers can take an obscene amount of time to break in (up to 300 hours at gig volume!).

Also, the Orange Tiny Terror Combo cab looks really sturdy so maybe a speaker change might be an idea.

One of my personal favourites is the Tone Tubby Alnico. It took about 100 hours (or guitar and ipod at reasonably high volumes to open up). But really is excellent (although supposedly only suited to open back cabs). Otherwise I have a Scumback M75 (based on a G12) I am breaking in at the moment and that also seems really promising. It seems to have a really fat midrange, solid lows and mellow highs and really pushes the frequencies for guitar that matter the most.

its sturdy , but its open back - so little low end for its size.

What kind of low end are you looking for? Like really tight riffing low end or more general "indie" low end (for lack of a better description)? The Tiny Terror is an EL84 amp and as such is not going to have the lows of an EL34 or 6l6 circuit.

This might also be helpful (seeing as a lot of non-Celestion speakers are based on Celestion designs)

just standard , this amp has none , not the deep shred stuff, just standard
    E based stuff

Open back or not it shouldn't be that lacking in bass. The Tiny Terror is essentially and AC15 with an extra gain stage (I am reliable informed). That Celestion speaker should have plenty of bass. I checked out Tiny Terror combo cab and was impressed with it solid construction and its proportions. The fact that you describe it as boxy suggests to me that the speaker still needs breaking in.

screw it , i brought it back to Xmusic and paid the xtra and got a 2nd hand mesa boogie in stead

I could never understand the Boogie thing. Always found them hard to get a good sound from. I'm a big fan of Orange amps (using an AD30 quite a lot).

Anyway, have you tried putting your open back amp against a wall? ;o)

This is one of the nicest amps I've used ever... The voice switch lets you dial in the tone you want and the EQ lets you fine tune it, and it really works. A really versatile amp imo.

funny , im the opposite - the minute i plugged it in I 'GOT IT '

it sounds so big and rich for its size.
the clean sound alone is worth it , but the dirty is massive .

the oranges are good, and i like the sound off them - but the tiny combo is way to thin sounding - be nice with an extension though id say .

i tried the blackstar 5 watt , and it only got good with marshall 1936 dual cab
stil l sounded a bit pod like though .

but hearing this boogie was a deal i couldnt let go .

in other news , i had stripped the paint off me strat ( 2001 usa model )
    down to the sand sealer
and sanded smooth the neck joint area, and by god it sounds and feels a million time better

Which Boogie did you get Tish?
I'm considering shifting my AC30 to get a Boogie.

My recently finished HiWatt clone (built from a 70's Sound City) is a monster, and is being used by the band's guitarist. The AC30 isn't giving me the contrasting tone I want to go with the HiWatt. It's fantastic for clean and overdrive, but I need a higher gain tone...while the HiWatt and the AC30 have quite different voicings, they're too similar and it's getting a bit muddy...

its an f-50 - very loud amp .
its a discontiued range , so they are easy to pick up 2nd hand .

ive just ordered all new tubes from tube doctor for the whole thing

its got a pretty high and smooth gain on channell two -
i doubt id need an extra pedal for this gain - its great.
has a boost switch for lead work .

but the clean sound is absolutley amazing to my ears - the strat loves it .

the reverb is **** , dont even bother with it .

best amp ive heard in along time , once i heeard it i had to get it .

its also pretty qiuet noise wise for a tube amp.

id say if you used a small boost pedal on the clean channell , youd easily get ac 30 tones , or even no pedal and just bang the treble up
( the mesa treble affects the gain on this amp )
